In the past two issues we've had The Green Goblin and Kraven the Hunter. After those smashing issues, can The Amazing Spider-Man #16 possibly keep up? We're going to find out as we dive into today's issue, featuring Spider-Man's first team up with Daredevil, and the menacing villain The Ringmaster!

Spider Monday - Amazing Spider-Man #15

It's that time again! Unfortunately, I had to miss last week due to a family situation that took priority, but hey - we've got 700 issues to get through! That means I don't have time to miss a week if I want to get this done before dying from old age, so this week there are two reviews! The first one is issue 15, which introduces Kraven the Hunter and brings back The Chameleon, while next week will have the very first team-up between Daredevil and Spider-Man. And, did I mention this is the first "appearance" of Mary Jane Watson? It's true! Let's dive into this issue and see how it goes!

Spider Monday - Amazing Spider-Man #13

I have to say, one of the most entertaining aspects of reviewing all of these issues is seeing where all of the classic villains come from. For the most part, it's astounding to see how little they had to change in order to last in the modern age, from their costumes to their origin stories. Mysterio has always been a little bit hit or miss, with some great stories and some terrible ones, but this is my first time reading through his origin issue. Let's take a look and see if it this is a mark in the win column for Mysterio!

Spider Monday - Amazing Spider-Man #11

In another week, we'll have journeyed through the first year of The Amazing Spider-Man together, and it's been a heck of a ride so far. This issue, we have the return of Doctor Octopus, who first made his appearance in the third issue of this comic, which means he waited eight issues to come back! So far, that's a record! This is a big issue in a lot of ways as it helps to continue building the legacy of Spider-Man that is still followed today, so let's not waste any more time! Bring on Doc Ock!

Spider Monday - Amazing Spider-Man #8

This is kind of a special review of The Amazing Spider-Man. See, this is the first original review I'm writing for Fine Vintage Reviews. All of the ones up until now were cribbed from my old project, creatively titled Every Amazing Spider-Man Reviewed, which was just too limited to keep me interested. I'm really enjoying putting them back up, and also looking forward to getting back into writing about the exploits of Evil Overlord May and her hapless nephew. Today, we get to kick some glasses' butt, fight Flash Thompson, and discover the menace of The Living Brain.

Spider Monday - Amazing Spider-Man #3

Ah, Dr. Octopus, one of my favorite villains. Dr. Octopus is fairly unique in the world of comics. He's overweight, which is something that Marvel embraced far before DC, with characters such as Blob and Kingpin. He doesn't start off as a villain, either. In fact, it is the accident that gives him his abilities that also robs him of his sanity. It's an interesting dichotomy between him and Spider-Man, in that case. Spider-Man gains his powers from a radioactive spiders, but maintains his own personality along with the increased powers. What, however, would happen if he were driven insane from the radioactivity and became one of the greatest villains? Dr. Octopus lets us find that out!

Debuting in Amazing Spider-Man #3 as one of the best Spider-Villains yet, here comes Dr. Octopus!

Hasbro Marvel Legends - Mighty Thor

I swear, the timing of this review is entirely coincidental and not really meant to coincide with the release of Thor's second movie, The Dark World. That said, I don't mind the occasional happy coincidence! I happily take them when I can. Let's take a look at Thor from Hasbro!
