Spider Monday - Amazing Spider-Man #19

It's that time again, True Believers! Another week and another exciting (hopefully) issue of Spider-Man! Last week, we had a bit of a downer, place-holder issue with Peter spending his whole time moping. This time, however, the cover declares that "Spidey Strikes Back!" and promises appearances by Human Torch, Sandman, and.. well.. The Enforcers. Sigh. Two out of three ain't bad, I guess. Are we going to do better this week and get some great drama and action? There's only one way to find out!

Spider Monday - Amazing Spider-Man #12

This is it, true believers! The exciting 12th issue of The Amazing Spider-Man! Assuming a monthly schedule, this means that we've hit one year's worth of issues, or by this website's review schedule, three full months worth of coverage. This one is the second part of a two-part story started in issue 11, so I recommend reading that write-up if you haven't already. If you're already caught up, or if you figure you'll just put it together as you go, join me as we dive into the first public unmasking of Spider-Man and another epic battle against Doctor Octopus!

Spider Monday - Amazing Spider-Man #11

In another week, we'll have journeyed through the first year of The Amazing Spider-Man together, and it's been a heck of a ride so far. This issue, we have the return of Doctor Octopus, who first made his appearance in the third issue of this comic, which means he waited eight issues to come back! So far, that's a record! This is a big issue in a lot of ways as it helps to continue building the legacy of Spider-Man that is still followed today, so let's not waste any more time! Bring on Doc Ock!

Spider Monday - Amazing Spider-Man #10

Wow, has it been ten weeks already that I've been reviewing every The Amazing Spider-Man? We're closing in on the very first year of the adventures of Pete and Evil Overlord May, and it's been a heck of a ride so far. We've met some iconic villains, a living but not living brain, and even watched in awe as Peter conquered glasses! Now, we're moving on to a new group of villains. As the cover promises, "Never has anyone fought such merciless foes as.. The Enforcers!" Is the tag true to its word? Let's find out!

Spider Monday - Amazing Spider-Man #9

Welcome to my ninth review of The Amazing Spider-Man, which just happens to also be the ninth issue! What a coincidence! I was left disappointed after last issue, featuring The Living Brain, but I'm hoping we can get back on track. This issue features the first appearance of Electro, who goes on to become a long-time Spider Foe. How does he do on his first appearance? Let's find out!

Spider Monday - Amazing Spider-Man #6

Time for yet another Amazing Spider-Man review! Welcome back, everyone. Today, we're taking a look at Amazing Spider-Man #6, which is the first appearance of The Lizard! This issue also takes us out of New York for the first time, letting Peter find his way to the generic Florida Everglades in pursuit of a terrifying menace that only he can stop because, uhm, I'm pretty sure he's the only one that really cares or believes it.

Spider Monday - Amazing Spider-Man #5

After four straight issues of world building and brand new villains, things are shaken up with Issue #5 as the Marvel Universe is tied neatly together. Yes, the villain for this issue is Doctor Doom, a man both hilarious and frightening at the same time. A man whose ego knows no bounds. How does he do against the quips of the ol' Webhead? Let's find out, and see if we finally break our four issue streak of perfect issues!
